Behind-the-scenes of a great shoot with AAA and Pace Communications a few weeks ago. Thanks again to all the crew, clients and our talent, Patty, for another awesome time – this round in Half Moon Bay, CA. It’s about an hour south of San Francisco and is a beautiful place to shoot. The locals were great too – a shout-out goes to the Ritz Carlton and Flora Farm Nursery for all their help and accommodations on our shoot.

Christian, Chef 2011

Christian, Chef 2011

This is the third image from the series Reconnected: Old Friends Found. I’ve known Christian since high school and he was considered one of the “cool” kids, while I was a shy nerd. Later, we found a mutual love of mountain biking and rock climbing. He was always one of the funniest people I ever met. Click here to reach the gallery.

September 14, 2011

While I’m primarily a still photographer, I’ve always had a love for motion and have been fortunate enough to shoot video for many clients. With the release of the Canon 5D Mark II and other video capable DSLRs, shooting high definition video is become cheaper and easier. And while DSLR cameras can’t do everything a [...]

Chaumette Vineyard, 2011

September 1, 2011

My daughter’s boyfriend’s parents own a vineyard in Missouri, just south of St Louis. I went to school in St. Louis and as far as I knew, good winemakers did not exist in the state. A few weeks ago, I was schooled by Chaumette Vineyard.  It struck me as more of a resort, with villas, [...]

This is the second image from the series Reconnected: Old Friends Found. Jay is a friend from college who also became a professional photographer. He’s very talented and currently runs the entire photography department at Build-a-Bear. He was gracious enough to allow me to photograph him in his kids’ room surrounded by their stuffed friends.

Reconnected: Old Friends Found

July 11, 2011

Whether we like Facebook or not, most of us have to admit that we’ve found old friends or classmates there we probably would have never talked to again. This can be good and bad. Some have been great to reconnect with, and others, well, maybe not so much. I don’t care about the daily status [...]

Death Valley in May

May 23, 2011

Recently I went camping in Death Valley National Park. I’ve been to many deserts and all have a unique quality, but Death Valley lives up to the superlatives in its tagline: Hottest, Driest, and Lowest. Only second in the world behind Al ‘Aziziyah, Libya (136 °F) for the highest temperature ever recorded, the basin reached  134 °F [...]
