Portraits for Giant Creative – San Francisco

Giant Creative

Giant Creative Another great shoot for Giant Creative photographing their new employees. The agency has been growing and hiring like gang-busters over the past few years and I was honored to be asked to shoot for them again this year. Limited time, limited space, lots of faces, natural light, and each shot unique, adds up to a creative workout for all involved!

Huge thanks to Jill from Giant for bringing me on again and organizing all the subjects, not mention helping keep all the shots fresh.

Pharma shoot in San Francisco for Xtandi

XtandiWe just did a shoot for the medication Xtandi that featured 14 gentlemen photographed on white and grey, head to toe. The images are being used in trade shows on an interactive display to give doctors an idea how this medication is used for various ages and conditions for treating prostate cancer. Big thanks to all the talent, Jeannine and Angie from Giant Creative, stylist Danielle Gold, and H&M stylists Elizabeth Fox and Sabrina Foster, not to mention John at Lux-SF for the great space.

Getting Messy with Sigma-Aldrich

Sigma-Aldrich Dirty HandsAnother awesome shoot for Sigma-Aldrich featuring kids making a mess – this time with dirt and lipstick. Thanks again to all the kids, Wendy and Whitney from Sigma-Aldrich, hair and makeup stylist Kathy Ferrara, Maggie from TalentPlus, and Dan Dreyfus for his beautiful studio.

Kids Throwing Food for Sigma Aldrich

Screen Shot 2014-06-17 at 3.32.53 PMSigma-Aldrich

We had such a good time doing a two day studio shoot with Sigma-Aldrich. The shoot featured kids making a mess with food while wearing safety goggles – a metaphor for the protection Sigma offers through product and food testing and analysis. Everyone was great to work with, especially the kids. And huge thanks to Wendy and Whitney from Sigma-Aldrich, Torsten and Stephanie from MetaDesign, our awesome stylist Danielle Gold, H&M Tahni Smith, and Lux-SF for their great studio – where there still may be spaghetti on the walls.

CNC Machines for Celestica

Special fluid is sprayed onto the drill bit to lubricate and cool as it cuts away aluminum very quickly inside the CNC machine.

I had a great shoot for Celestica – they are a high tech company that, among other things, manufactures parts for machines that make microchips and electronic components. This shoot involved photographing parts being created out of huge aluminum blocks by CNC machines, some of which are nearly 20 feet tall.

Union Bank / American Heart Association Shoot in Los Angeles

I recently did a shoot for Union Bank to promote their sponsorship of the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk. Using Union Bank employees, we created a giant heart at the Westin Bonaventure hotel in downtown LA. They also wanted a making-of video to show the heart coming together using timelapse photography. I set a camera on the roof of the hotel, one at ground level and a Go-Pro camera clamped to the ladder I was shooting from. Big thanks to Union Bank, American Heart Association, and the Westin Hotel for making it all happen so smoothly!

Yellowstone at Night

While traveling through Yellowstone, I wanted to photograph the geysers and thermal activity that seems to be around every corner. Being one of the most photographed National Parks, my goal was to make some images that were a little different than the usual. There happened to be a full moon this clear night so I decided use that light to get something more interesting. I love this moonlit scene with the stars showing perfectly and the steam blurring across the frame.
